Silicon Practice Secure Online Services is a complete system that offers not only encrypted communications from the patient but encrypted responses from your practice too. We use the same level of encryption as online banking to give you the best protection available on the internet today.

The encryption and decryption takes place automatically - all you see is the resultant message.

To reply to a request, enter your text and click SEND, and your response is automatically sent back to the patient - encrypted, of course.

Being able to respond securely to the patient request is vitally important, as it enables you to let the patient know whether their request (e.g. a repeat prescription) has been accepted, or whether it couldn't be fulfilled. And it enables more advanced services, such as a Doctor Dialogue.

Caldicott Compliance

At the practice, the system lets you control which staff members can view administrative and clinical data, thus adhering to the Caldicott principles. You can also decide which staff members can view which requests. For example, the receptionist may only be able to view appointment requests, while the prescriber only has access to repeat prescriptions.

In fact the system can route requests directly to the person responsible for handling them, leading to better security as well as increased practice efficiency.

If you have multiple practices the patient requests can be routed between practices, or the handling of specified requests can be consolidated at a single practice.

Audit Trail

As an added assurance a complete audit trail is maintained of all the requests. You can review any request, see when and who issued it, when it was received, who processed it, and what the outcome was. So you'll never need to go scrambling through pieces of paper to try to track down what happened again.
